DUROLANE
Reduces pain and increases mobility
Durolane™ is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis and is injected into the knee or hip joint to reduce pain and increase mobility. The majority of people affected by osteoarthritis (OA) are over the age of 40. Osteoarthritis is sometimes very painful. If it is injected into the joint, Durolane can reduce the pain, lubricate the joint and improve the shock-absorbing effects of the joint fluid.
Sales, marketing and development of Durolane are done via strategic collaboration with Q-Med’s partner, Smith & Nephew, who carry the costs for clinical development, registration work and global commercialization. Q-Med’s revenues for Durolane consist of sales revenues and royalty payments. The work of registering Durolane in the American market is ongoing.
