Q-Med, a Galderma division, develops, manufactures and markets solutions for aesthetic and corrective treatments.

The division offers a complete worldwide portfolio in the aesthetic field including the brands Restylane, Emervel and Macrolane. Deflux, Solesta and Durolane are products improving patients’ health by treating conditions such as vesicoureteral reflux, fecal incontinence and arthritis.

Since  2011, Q-Med is wholly owned by Galderma, a pharmaceutical company specialized in dermatology with nearly 4 000 employees and present in more than 70 countries. The site in Uppsala, Sweden, is Galderma’s Global Aesthetic Center of Excellence with nearly 400 employees as well as world-class research and manufacturing.

A majority of the products in the Q-Med portfolio are based on the company’s patented technology, NASHA™, for the production of stabilized non-animal hyaluronic acid.

The product portfolio consists of:

Restylane® is an internationally leadingproduct family of hyaluronic acid-based products consisting of three product groups: Restylane fillers, Restylane skinboosters and Restylane skincare. Restylane fillers are injectable gels used for filling out wrinkles and lines or increasing fullness in lips or face. Restylane skinboosters are also injectables and are used to rejuvenate and improve the quality of the skin. Restylane skincare is a series of skincare products that protects hydrates and nourishes the skin.

Restylane is the world’s most documented injectable non-animal hyaluronic acid product for aesthetic use and has been on the market for more than 15 years. Over 15 million Restylane treatments have been carried out all over the world.

Emervel® is a range of nine hyaluronic acid dermal fillers specifically designed to provide a good combination of tolerability profile and long-lasting correction of facial lines, contouring and volume loss or for lip enhancement. The range is formulated using the unique Optimal Balance TechnologyTM.

Macrolane™ VRF is the first series of products on the market that makes it possible to shape the body without surgery. When Macrolane is injected, the gel can shape for example buttock and calves, create volume and smooth out defects on the body. The advantages of the treatment are immediate and long-lasting, without being permanent. The hyaluronic acid in Macrolane is similar to that of the body and is therefore broken down naturally.

Deflux® for the treatment of a malformation of the urinary bladder in children.

Durolane™ for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee and hip.

Solesta™ for the treatment of fecal incontinence.
