Deflux® is used for the treatment of VUR – a malformation of the urinary bladder that affects children and which can give severe urinary tract infections and even irreversible kidney damage. The treatment with Deflux is simple to carry out and gives immediate results. The largest single market for Deflux is the USA. In Europe the product is sold in more than ten countries, where Germany is the largest market.
Q-Med has during spring 2009 entered into global agreements with Oceana Therapeutics, LCC., to license worldwide commercialization rights to Deflux® and Solesta™. Included in this transaction are the exclusive rights to market, sell and distribute Deflux and Solesta and other products intended for the management of urological and gastroenterological conditions worldwide. Q-Med will continue to develop and manufacture all products under this agreement.
